The Sells, Date with Ally, Sermon, Cinco de Mayo Party

Okay so I've been a little slack lately, but a lot has gone on since last time we posted. I'm trying to remember all the events by the select few pictures I've taken.

About two weeks ago Cam and I asked John and Ashley Sell if they wanted to come over for dinner and then dinner in downtown St. Charles. Cam and I were inspired by our mama's and decided to make Shepard's Pie and green bean casserole. YUM! We picked a greaaaat night (sarcasm) to walk around St. Charles. It was the night after all the tornadoes went through St. Louis and the weather had not passed. We ventured out all in rain coats and began our search for a "homey" bar. After sitting down in about 3 different places then bailing because it wasn't quite what we wanted, we finally found the winner. John and Cam shared a pitcher of beer while Ashley and I got these coffee/chocolate drinks. They were delicious -- a little strong for a weakling like me, but delicious. Roughly 30 minutes before we left a live band came on -- correction, an old man came out singing eighties. :) Luckily Ashley and I snagged a "fan pic" with them before we left

The following Saturday morning (I know skipping an entire week) I met Ally for breakfast at the Winslow Home. I think that's the name of it... if not something close to that. Any ways... this place was awesome. It was a modern cracker barrel mixed with an organic grocery store. That's the closest description Cam and I could come up with. I took some pictures of the inside and of course look like the loser tourist.

It was a pretty cool place and a great time spent with Ally.

Fast forward with me now to Wednesday afternoon. Cam preached for the second and last time today and I can't even begin to tell you how proud of my husband I am. Sure I work 5 days a week, but Cam works as a student 6 days a week and constantly has to think about all the various things that need to be completed. He's dedicated to his work and how it will shape our future ministry together. On top of all the school he's doing he's also able to be a faithful and loving husband and friend. I respect him more and more each day. He worked so hard for this sermon and talked it through multiple times with me. Sure there is always room for improvement, but I adore him so much I made him pose for a picture dressed up to preach :)

Last but certainly not least is our Cinco de Mayo party. Emma sent out invitations a couple weeks prior inviting all our friends to the Smith house for a birthday/cinco de mayo party. Emma bought and prepared all the food and Cam and I loved hosting all our friends. It was a night full of laughter and celebration as we enjoyed some drinks and games with friends.

And to wrap up a couple weeks, Cam and I have greatly enjoyed being able to worship together every Sunday. We're learning to love our local church together and enjoying it the more time we spend at Crossroads.
Just a Sunday afternoon :)
